About this Practitioner:

Nancy has been married for the past 31 years, a mother of three, grandmother of 4, here for more than six decades.  During those six decades, wore many hats.  Began learning about Reiki during the year 1999.  She was certified at Level I, April 2000, proceeded to be certified at Level II, in May 2000. Nancy was very dedicated to sharing Reiki Energy and became a Reiki Master in August 2007.

Here is Nancy's Personal Reiki Story:

It began many years ago….my first indication that there is a power greater than ourselves ready to share began in the Catholic Charismatic Movement.  I had been going to Healing Masses experiencing miracles. I wanted to become part of a “healing ministry” and was told that I would have to pray and fast a lot …I decided that was not for me. I continued to go the masses, rest In Spirit and touch those that were sent to me in the way I was led. 

Then I had a profound  experience….. 

I was a mother of three children living in the established neighborhood of Woodhaven, Queens in New York City.  I had a neighbor who was dying of cancer.  One Sunday morning, her daughter, Carolyn, approached me at Church telling me she was looking for me the night before because her mother was asking for me.  I dropped my children at home with my husband and proceeded to go to their home two doors down from mine.  Upon arriving I was immediately led to go up to the bedroom that her mom was in.  She was semi-conscious.I asked to be left alone with her, and began to do what Spirit Led Me to Do. 

I prayed some Catholic prayers with her and sang the song “Be Not Afraid” over and over again.  After about an hour I called her girls to the room and indicated that their mother wanted to be bathed and her pajamas changed.  They complied, while I left the room.  Upon completion they called me back upstairs and left me alone with their mom once more.  I spoke with her, telling her to go to the light, not to be afraid, that it was okay to let go, that her family would be fine and that her journey was near end. The song was sung again and I was led to tell her family, my work was done and that they were to surround her with the love that they had for her and say goodbye.  Around ten minutes later, her daughter Carolyn came to my door to tell me her mother had passed.  At that time, I did not realize the instrument I had become during those hours.  Today, I thank SPIRIT for utilizing me in such a very special way…allowing me to help make her journey back sacred.

My Reiki experiences began several years after I moved to Atlanta.  I met some wonderful friends, namely, Debbie & Mary, who introduced me to Reiki and asked me to join them for a weekend attunement seminar.  Unable to make that weekend, I was blessed with their healing hands when they returned.  It was a sacred and healing experience.  I wanted to know more about Reiki and wanted to be attuned.  I got books and read of Reiki’s History.  I mediated and prayed for the knowledge.  Then an unexpected thing happened. My husband came home one evening and spoke to me about a man that touched his aching leg after a meeting .He further told me of the heat he felt in the area and how the ache dissipated.  I wanted to know more about this man.  I learned that he was a Reiki Master and I arranged to meet with him and become attuned in Reiki I.  My prayers were answered.  I began to share this grace with family and friends.

As time passed, I was afforded the opportunity to celebrate Debbie’s 40^th Birthday due to the generosity of her husband.  Debbie moved to Florida and her husband was flying Mary and me out as a surprise for several days for her birthday.  We decided that we would gift Debbie a session in Reiki II attunement as a birthday gift and found a master in Florida, arranged for the attunement and we all did the class together.  Since then I have shared Reiki sporadically with family and friends.  One friend shared that her session left her relaxed, joyful and light-hearted.  My daughter-in-law a non-believer approached a gifted session with apprehension after the birth of her third child and no relief from her many doctor visits.  Her session left her a firm believer in Reiki. I have a passion and calling that I have been ignoring for some time.  It’s time for me to give what I have received to those that are sent to me.
